Commentary by Tical... Hot Potato 48 G Bears 34 The Conroy Express Powers Hot Pots to Consecutive Titles The Golden Pump will be sleeping under the Hot Pots' roof as they took down the G Bears after a well played game.
In the first half, it was obvious that this was going to be a defensive battle. Not enough can be said for Playoff MVP Erin Conroy's energy level. The girl came out amped, making me think there were some performance enhancing schnenigans goin on prior to the game, but the drug test came back clean. That tells you right there: Erin wanted, no, demanded the Golden Pump. All game, she was unstoppable in the post and on the glass. G Unit's Katie Lombardo had the miserable task of sticking Erin on D, but she did a respectable job because in all honesty I dont think there is one person in any league at CAC that wants to guard Erin on the block.
However, the Hot Pots did a great job as a team. Super Nat was lethal with the jumper (good luck with school!), while JB was a flat out, Jay-Z esque HUSTLA. Not only did JB lay out for a loose ball, she had the where with all to chuck the rock to Hallie to set up for a layup. League leader in Tical Points. Couple more and u can redeem them for the Tical Cabbage Patch doll. Hallie kept the leash on Callie, making good use on 5 fouls to make sure Callie didnt go off. Jess did a great job coming off the bench to provide some energy and breathers for the starters.
The G Bears made things interesting in the second half. Callie started to get some floaters to fall, but made the highlight reel with a sensational AND1 with contact that sent her to kiss the floor. That's built Ford Tough. Kate B and the Big Hurt each managed a couple jumpers, but their D was what kept G-Unit in the game. Stats dont lie, the Hot Pots came in averaging over 60 pts per game, so if there is a silver lining in the sky, I guess that would be it.
Another championship for the Hot Pots as the trophy mantle gets a lil more crowded.
