Playoff Write-Ups - Round 1
| SHOWTIME 61 UCC 59 |
| Playoff time kicked off with a huge surprise from UCC. Not only did I have them at -9, when the game started, UCC was missing two of their starters to boot. Before the tap I wanted to call Vegas and throw my priceless GI Joes on the game (collectors edition). Good for me I had no reception on the cell because UCC came to play, regardless. In the first half, Steve Shorey (16pts) led Showtime to a half time lead, taking full advantage of his size. With the start of the second half, I kept waiting for Showtime to run away with it, but it wasn’t happening. UCC started a ridiculous run, sparked by Black Ice himself (15pts). Once he started hitting, D-Mac followed suit and went off on one of the most clutch performances I can remember. He single handedly carried the UCC offense in the second half, dropping 38 on an unsuspecting Showtime team. Luckily, they have this kid named Greg Poulos who brought the whopping stick. Just as I predicted, no one could stick GP as with out his efforts (31pts), Showtime would have been up the creek. Once GP started talking trash to boot, I knew they had the game. With all of D-Mac’s efforts, they just couldn’t over come the lead in the final minute. Great game to GP and D-Mac and thank God I didn’t lose my GI joes.

| RT6 77 EVANS 60 |
| This was the game I couldn’t wait to see, especially after reading about how OD had a game plan. OD I’d throw whatever book you bought out and buy a new one because the game plan wasn’t enough. In the first half, Rt 6 just brought the game to Evans. The three musketeers of Rt 6 all had incredible games. It was a 20 point spread the entire game. Tim Gapsar: 25pts, Brent Cardeiro (22pts), and Sean Walsh (30pts 20rebs) all looked sharp. For Evans, they got a good game from Brain aka Joe Skerry (16pts), who was the lone bright spot in the first half. In the second half, frustration began to set in, my new favorite player of the league, Jeff “the ticking time bomb” Holden had the quote of the night. After a series of questionable calls, Jeff yelled up to me and asked if this league had a suggestion box because he had a few. He was promptly hit with the T. But before the T, both he and Jay Satori both had pretty good second halfs with 16 each, just Rt 6 had a better. Tough season for Evans, but I look forward to seeing them next league.
